My husband and I played Baggo for the first time at a Memorial Day picnic hosted by our friends a few years ago.  I have to admit, I'm not big on competitive games...I usually prefer to cheer from the sidelines with a cool beverage!  But this game got me up and out of my seat.  I had a great time! The jokes were flying fast and furious and the friendly competition just added to the fun.  I was officially converted to a Baggo fan that day.

The great thing about Baggo is that anyone can play.  Yes, it's a game of skill which is why it's so addictive.  Yet it's not so physically taxing that guests are excluded from joining in the fun.  This game can be enjoyed by everyone.  I love activities that break the ice and bring people together and Baggo does a great job of both.

Grill Daddy Giveaway

We just went grill shopping.  Our old compact unit finally died and truth be told, we weren't that thrilled with it anyway.  We wanted a space saving grill that looked great but also had the power to put a good sear on a steak...qualities lacking in our former model. 

After a little research we settled on a great stainless steel, infrared grill that also has a small footprint. This thing grills like one of the big boys, yet but doesn't dominate our tiny townhouse deck. This was a major purchase for our family and I've promised myself I'd go the extra mile to take care of it and keep it clean...I want this grill to last as long as possible!

Every four or five uses, I've been taking the grates apart and giving it a good cleaning.  It's definitely worth the effort, but thanks to Leslie Loves Veggies and the folks at Grill Daddy, I found an easier way to take care of my investment.  The Original Grill Daddy grill cleaning tool!!

Sport-Brella Giveaway!

The days are getting longer, the air is getting warmer and summer fun is on my mind.  But like so many other families in the country, we're on a very tight budget right now.  So last night I decided to do a little creative brainstroming.  Instead of putting the focus on what I can't do, I decided to focus on what I can do.

At the top of my list of budget friendly summer activities is "A Day at the Beach".  Just the thought of a lazy day by the water brings back memories of my childhood.  It's been years since I packed up a cooler and headed to the lake.  I can almost feel my toes in the warm sand!

But unlike my childhood days, a day at the beach doesn't mean a day in the sun.  Gone are the days of slathering myself with baby oil and roasting myself to a golden brown.   (How crazy was that anyway?)  Not only do I want to be safe, but I also want to be comfortable.   I decided a good beach umbrella is a "must have" for my mini holiday.

Today I woke up, turned on my computer and thanks to Leslie Loves Veggies...I found the coolest beach umbrella ever, The Sport-Brella!   It sets up just as quickly and easily as any umbrella, but it's waay more than your average beach umbrella  This baby has side flaps that stake into the ground for added sun and wind protection (and a little extra privacy), pockets to hold the stakes and keep stuff like your your iPod or phone out of the sand, and windows and vents so you can feel those balmy beach breezes.  This portable cabana rocks!  It even has it's own carry bag with a shoulder strap so it's super easy tote down to the water.
